This Mikvah is being dedicated in loving memory of Rabbi Ariel Rav-Noy. Rabbi Ariel is the brother in law of the Chabad Shluchim to Humboldt County, Rabbi Eliyahu and Mushkie Cowen. He was a source of inspiration to countless Jews from all walks of life and Rabbi Eli and Mushkie in particular. It was with his encouragement that the Mikvah campaign was launched. He felt very strongly for this project and even donated thousands of dollars himself to get it going.  His sudden passing on the 8th of Shvat, leaving behind his wife and seven young children, was a shock to all. “Vehachai yiten el libo” – “The living shall take to heart”. Donating to this cause, to build a Mikvah in Humboldt in Rabbi Ariel's honor, would be a comfort beyond belief to his wife and family.

The Mikvah Campaign

The Need...

  • There are 2,000 Jews in Humboldt county and not one Mikvah
  • According to Jewish tradition a Mikvah takes precedence over a Shul or a Torah scroll
  • There are countless local women that are currently interested in learning and starting to use the Mikvah and others traveling regularly to use a Mikvah
  • Our tradition teaches us that the presence of a Mikvah brings abundant blessings to a community

The Goal...

  • We need to raise $140,000 for the construction and $150,000 for land

The Mikvah Campaign is officially launched!!

We flew down a Rov and met with a builder
